About Vuvuzelas on World Championship 2010

The World Championship 2010 held in the Republic of South Africa is likely to be best remembered not for prefect game and brilliant goals but for the noise from African pipes called vuvuzelas. Never-ceasing buzz spoils football match atmosphere, drowning the commenter's voice and annoying viewers. Most football viewers turn their TVs down during the matches or even choose to not to watch them at all.

While football players and their fans in the Republic of South Africa will obviously have to live with the constant noise, Widisoft has offered a solution of this problem for television companies, sport-bars and football match viewers. The new product of the company - MuteVuvuzela - blocks the buzz from intrusive African pipes during football match broadcasting with the help of a special filter for audio signal.

The work of the filter in MuteVuvuzela uses the fact that vuvuzela pitch range is rather limited. The program installed on the computer traps the audio signal coming from the TV, satellite receiver, DVD player or any other device and edits it - splits the audio stream, removes the frequencies typical of the sound from vuvuzela and immediately reproduces the filtered audio signal. The delay in reproducing is negligible - about 0,1 second, so even the most demanding viewers watching TV matches can finally enjoy broadcasting from the World Championship 2010 in the Republic of South Africa.
